Many students who completed their +2 examination are searching for more information about BIM (Bachelors in Information Management) course in Nepal. At the time you have reached here and reading this article, I am sure that you are interested to know more on this too.

So, what is BIM course all about?

Bachelor in Information Management (BIM) is a 4 year academic program designed by Tribhuvan University. It is a blend of IT and management courses based on semester and grading system. The whole course is of 40% management and 60% IT. With completion of the program, he/she can be able to hold the positions that require competitive managerial and IT as well as communicative skills.

To be eligible to study BIM, the student must require successful completion of 12 year schooling and secure the minimum of second division.

As the program is focused more on practical matters and projects comparing to other bachelor courses, the students will be able to face the real life situations in the future. BIM education is equally competitive as BBA and BIT.

Colleges that offer BIM courses:
Now that you have known the colleges that provide BIM program, you should also know that only 60 seats are available in each colleges per semester. This means TU accepts only 480 students in a semester. Therefore, you need to rush up before others do and fill up the form for CMAT examination taken by TU in respective college. You need to pass this exam to be eligible for the admission. CMAT exam paper includes four sections i.e. Verbal ability, Quantitative ability, Logical reasoning, and General awareness. Preparation classes will be held in the colleges before the exam is taken.

How much should I spend to study BIM?

Since it is a practical based program, the total amount to be spent is comparatively expensive than other bachelor courses in Nepal. The admission fee is around 10,000 to 15,000 and the fee per semester is around 30,000 to 35,000. To calculate in average, the total amount to be spent for four years will be around 2.5 -3 Lakhs.

To conclude, if you have decided to choose the BIM program for the betterment of your career, it is necessary to select the best college as well.

    The answer to your question is mentioned in the article above. Please take the time to read it.

    @Anonymous 2
    Well, BIM has large scope since it focuses on both IT and management sectors. After the completion of this course, you can choose your way to IT and banking areas as a programmer or in managerial positions.

    As for your second question, you can see less female than male students in other bachelor courses as well. Another reason may be, BIM colleges are fewer than other bachelor colleges.

    @Anonymous 3
    BCA completely focus on computer application or IT related matters and this is a specific degree. The duration of BCA is of 3 years(6 semesters). Whereas, BIM is the combination of IT and management. The duration of BIM is of 4 years(8 semesters).

    @Anonymous 1
    Nothing is guaranteed. If you study hard and achieve the best rank obviously you will be recognized.

    @Anonymous 2
    Are you talking about CMAT exam? If it is that, I think you can if seats are available in second college. If dont have IT background it will be quite difficult but it will not be the problem if you study well.

    @roman
    No it is not required. He/She can join.

  57. Bim is one of the revolutionary academic courses available in the town today. But studying this course in every college is not worthy as others. So, while choosing the college we must be more careful. I support the admin advice of not joining the NCIT college because I myself have got a bitter experience of studying in that college. Neither the management nor the faculty members are so qualified as required. I sometime guess how the TU gave the license to such unqualified members and organization.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Is it necessary to take cmat test or can we admit even without taking the test

    ReplyDelete
  59. @tshiring - Yes , it is compulsory to take CMAT test as it is the admission process set by TU.

  60. I havent read computer in +2 can i still study BIM????

  61. Sanjay bro, I have decided to study BIM and going to attend CMAT classes soon. But confused where to study.. You have mentioned " NAGARJUNA COLZ NOT RECOMMENDED " why is that so? Which colz do u recommend if not nagarjuna.. I was planning either nagarjuna or IMS ? plz help out dude.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sorry for late response. By this time I think you have already joined one of the colz. I didn't recommend Nagarjuna because I myself studied there and didn't found the environment as expected.
